At work, to maintain optimum efficiency and achieve objectives, we need to have organizational processes that are clear and simple to use. However, without effective internal tools and processes, it can be difficult to keep on track when faced with a multitude of tasks, ongoing projects or information to manage simultaneously.
To alleviate this problem, the Bullet Journal, also known as BuJo, was created in 1990 as a method of note-taking and classification on paper. The BuJo is thus a management and organization system that uses lists, symbols, mnemonics and notation methods to organize various tasks, such as : - Current projects. - The events. - Appointments. - Prioritizing missions
Originally conceived as a handwritten notebook, it enables users to track their goals, project progress, priorities and progress in a simple, flexible and, above all, personalized way. But in the digital age, how do you transpose the usefulness of the Bullet Journal into an online version?

1 The challenge
How do you get your Bullet Journal online?
Managing a busy life (both professional and personal) is a major daily challenge. Juggling multiple deadlines, appointments, different missions and emergencies can quickly become chaotic without an effective and appropriate internal management system.
My Bullet Online therefore had a specific need: how to transpose the traditional BuJo method from paper format to an innovative online version?
A complex challenge.
In fact, the Bullet Journal method is made up of many different techniques and approaches, as well as numerous tools (to-do lists, calendar, etc.). The complexity of these multiple functionalities had to be balanced with simplicity of use for the end-user. A challenge we overcame.
2 Our solution?
We helped My Bullet Online design their organization and project management tool, which combined the efficiency of a traditional Bullet Journal with the interactivity and practicality of a complete SaaS tool.
My Bullet Online wanted a tool that could :
- Setting and monitoring objectives.
- Define the actions needed to achieve these objectives.
- Save time with notes and reminders.
- Improve efficiency.
The primary objective was to facilitate the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly organization of any user. The second objective was to create a tool that could be used in both professional and private environments.
So the Better & More team analyzed in detail the BuJo method, the tools that make it up and the various existing interfaces and pages. We then worked with My Bullet Online to design an innovative tool that would go far beyond a simple organizational diary.
A transparent process for creating your first online BuJo!
To successfully complete this project and deliver a ready-to-use, scalable SaaS, Better & More relied on an agile, customized methodology:
Weekly sprints to include My Bullet Online in the efficient creative process and allow everyone to participate at every stage, as well as regular retrospectives at the end of each sprint. Weekly meetings keep the whole team up-to-date regarding project progress, not to mention a product manager dedicated to the project.
Throughout this process, we made it a point of honor to maintain efficient and 100% transparent communication with My Bullet Online for optimum results.

3 The result
A SaaS tool with multiple functions
The result: we designed My Bullet Journal not as a simple online version of BuJo, but rather as a truly enhanced version of Bullet Journal with many innovative features. A simple, modern SaaS tool, easy to use by the widest possible range of users. The tool can be used in both private and professional environments, perfectly suited to small teams, start-ups and SMEs.
Here's a quick overview of the various features:
To-do lists
To take it a step further, we've asked My Bullet Online to improve on the basic version of the simple check-off to-do list. With My Bullet Online, you can :
- Check off the mission when finished.
- Define the time allowed to complete a task.
- The task not completed within the specified time moves to a “Late” section.
- Appointments are synchronized and thus visible in the calendar.
- Sort task view (by day, week or month).
- Sort tasks chronologically, by date or perform custom sorting.
- Create sub-sections for your tasks.
- Show or hide finished tasks.
- The My Bullet Online to-do list tool is complete, easy to use and learn, and requires no training!
Calendar
But why settle for a simple calendar, when you can have :
- Daily, weekly or monthly views
- Filter by project: editorial calendar, menus, and even schedule by person
- Color customization
- Change time zone
For My Bullet Online, we've created much more than just a calendar: a tool that integrates seamlessly into the BuJo, making it as practical as it is indispensable.

We worked on two aspects of this feature:

The synchronization of these objectives with the calendar :
- -Visible on the “month view” in the calendar
- -Keep your goals in sight at all times
This makes it easy for users to set and track their goals, which are essential for maintaining a BuJo.

- The visible time slot can be selected from the calendar.
- Selectable time zone
- Tasks can be selected and sorted (daily, weekly or monthly), by project, chronological or custom order.
- Choice of language: French or English
We've designed a tool that can be customized endlessly, so that each user can have an interface that suits them and their needs.
